Published: May 22, 2025
Williamson Health is proud to announce that the health system’s flagship facility, Williamson Medical Center, has been included in Newsweek’s 2025 list of World’s Best Hospitals. This international ranking of the best hospitals in 30 countries lists facilities that provide first-class care and innovation while consistently attracting the best people and providing the best outcomes for patients. This is the fifth consecutive year Williamson Medical Center has been named to the list. Williamson Medical Center was also recognized on Newsweek’s 2025 list of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals. This annual ranking recognizes the top maternity hospitals in the U.S., spotlighting institutions that excel in providing exceptional care throughout the pregnancy, delivery and postpartum period.
“It is an honor to have Williamson Medical Center once again included on both of these prestigious annual Newsweek lists,” said Phil Mazzuca, Williamson Health CEO. “This recognition is a testament to our team of talented providers and exceptional caregivers dedicated to providing world-class healthcare to our community.”
Newsweek’s annual World’s Best Hospitals list, presented in partnership with Statista, the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider, establishes a ranking that serves as a comprehensive resource for the top hospitals globally. The 2025 list ranks the top 2,445 hospitals worldwide with 420 hospitals recognized. Williamson Medical Center is one of only three Tennessee hospitals to be included on this year’s list. The ranking can be viewed on Newsweek’s website.
The World’s Best Hospitals ranking is based on an extensive evaluation process, including an online survey of thousands of medical experts (doctors, hospital managers and health care professionals), patient experience data, hospital quality metrics and a Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) Implementation Survey.
“These rankings showcase the hospitals that are setting the standard for medical excellence, innovation and patient-centered care on a global scale,” said Alexis Kayser, healthcare editor at Newsweek. “By incorporating new quality metrics and patient-reported outcomes, this year’s list provides an even more comprehensive view of the institutions leading the way in health care. We’re proud to highlight the hospitals making a tangible impact on patient well-being and advancing the future of medicine.”
High-quality maternity care, provided from pregnancy through birth and postpartum, is key to the long-term health of newborns and women who give birth. Given that maternity care is a major component of healthcare, Newsweek and Statista have partnered to identify America’s Best Maternity Hospitals in 2025.
The 2025 America’s Best Maternity Hospitals list was determined through a rigorous evaluation process, incorporating a nationwide online survey of health care professionals and hospital managers with knowledge about maternity processes, results from patient experience surveys and hospital quality metrics from several sources with a focus on indicators relevant to maternity care.
The America’s Best Maternity Hospitals ranking is also posted on Newsweek’s website.
