Women's Group of Franklin specializes in the practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and our practice is dedicated to providing the highest quality, individualized care to our obstetrical and gynecological patients from adolescence, through childbirth, and into the menopausal years.
Obstetrics
When you establish care for your pregnancy with us, you will be known, valued and cared for as an individual, with your health and well-being as our top priority. We believe that having a relationship with your doctor is important so that we can get to know our patient's individual needs.
You will see your doctor for most of your prenatal visits throughout the pregnancy. When you don't see your doctor, you will see one of our expertly trained advance practice providers. When you choose us as your obstetrician, you are trusting us with two precious lives, and this is a responsibility we take seriously.
We provide care for both high and low risk pregnancies; with the ability to consult with a high risk specialist on site if needed. We are respectful of your birth preferences, whether it is natural childbirth or an epidural as soon as possible. Skin to skin and delayed cord clamping are encouraged for all patients after delivery. We also offer vaginal births after cesarean section (VBAC) for appropriate candidates.
Gynecology
In addition to well woman check-ups, our providers can diagnose and treat gynecological issues such as:
- Endometriosis
- Fibroids
- Heavy menstrual bleeding
- Hormone issues
- Infertility
- Menopause and Perimenopause
- Ovarian cysts
- Pelvic pain
- PMOS (PCOS)
Our physicians are highly skilled surgeons trained in advanced laparoscopic techniques. Dr. Heather Rupe and Dr. Nina Fredericks have additional training in robotic surgery. Some common surgeries our physicians perform:
- Bilateral salpingectomies (removal of fallopian tubes for permanent birth control)
- Endometrial ablations
- Minimally invasive hysterectomies
- Ovarian cystectomies
- Surgical treatment of endometriosis
