The Trustee of Distinction Award recognizes an active or recently retired board member of a THA member institution who demonstrates exceptional governance, service and community impact.
A United States Air Force veteran, Rogers Anderson was first appointed to the Williamson Health Board of Trustees in 1998 while serving as a Williamson County Commissioner. Now in his sixth term as County Mayor—a role he’s held since 2002—Anderson has brought more than three decades of steadfast leadership, public service, and strategic insight to Williamson Health.
Among his most impactful contributions is his support of the $180 million hospital renovation and expansion launched in 2022—the largest in Williamson Medical Center’s history. The project added 175,000 square feet and 141 new beds, including a new ICU, updated inpatient units, and elevated emergency, cardiac and NICU services—all aimed at enhancing access to high-quality, affordable care for the growing region.
Over the years, Anderson has helped guide the evolution of Williamson Medical Center into Williamson Health—a robust regional healthcare system with more than 2,400 employees, 900+ physicians and advanced care providers, and more than 30 locations. This includes services by way of Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee, The Turner-Dugas Breast Health Center, Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital Vanderbilt at Williamson Medical Center, the Williamson Health Medical Group, ground 911 emergency medical services (EMS) and much more.
Throughout his tenure, Anderson’s steady, adaptive leadership has helped Williamson Health navigate tremendous change—from long-term growth to the acute challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. His ability to bring people together, remain mission-focused, and lead through uncertainty continues to shape the system’s success and its unwavering commitment to safe, compassionate, high-quality care for all who call Williamson County home.
“It’s an incredible honor to receive this recognition for serving a community I care so deeply about,” said Mayor Anderson. “For nearly 40 years, I’ve been proud to support Williamson Health’s mission to provide high-quality, accessible care to the people of Williamson County.
