Williamson Health Offers Discounted Coronary Artery Calcium Scans Throughout American Heart Month
Published: January 30, 2026
FRANKLIN, Tenn. (Jan. 30, 2026) – In recognition of American Heart Month, Williamson Health is offering special “Love Your Heart. Know Your Risk.” coronary artery calcium scans throughout February, providing adults ages 40—75 with an affordable opportunity to better understand their risk for heart disease before symptoms appear. The coronary artery calcium scan is a quick, painless test that uses a low-dose CT scan to detect calcium buildup in the coronary arteries – the arteries that feed the heart. Williamson Health will offer the screening for a $65 self-pay fee throughout February.
“A coronary artery calcium scan isn’t just a test; it’s a tool to give us actionable information that we can use to develop a targeted plan to protect your heart,” said Amit Keswani, M.D., an interventional cardiologist and chair of the Williamson Health Primary Heart Attack Center. “Whether that involves lifestyle changes, medication or further testing, it helps us make the best decisions for your long-term health.”
Participating in Williamson Health’s coronary artery calcium screening opportunity is available by appointment only throughout February and does not require a physician referral. Participants will be asked to provide the name of their primary care provider so results can be shared for appropriate follow-up. Screenings will be held at Williamson Health Imaging located on the first floor of the main Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee building located at 3000 Edward Curd Lane in Franklin. To schedule an appointment, individuals may call (615) 435-5361 beginning February 1.
For Mike Schatz, a Brentwood-based marketing executive and active 60-year-old, a previous Heart Month screening promotion proved to be life-changing. “People like me move fast,” Schatz said. “It’s easy to overlook things like paying close attention to your health. If Williamson Health hadn’t offered the coronary artery calcium scan last year, I wouldn’t have taken that first step. That screening prompted a cardiology consultation and additional testing that addressed a serious issue early—likely preventing a major heart attack down the road.”
Coronary artery calcium scans are one of many ways Williamson Health prioritizes heart health across the community. The health system offers comprehensive cardiac care close to home, with expertise in prevention, cardiac rehabilitation, heart failure, and advanced diagnostics and interventions supported by two state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization labs and a new electrophysiology lab.
This screening is not a substitute for a clinical examination by a physician and is only one measure used to assess heart health. Results should be reviewed with a healthcare provider in the context of an individual’s medical history and risk factors.
