Shannon McDonald M.D.

Shannon McDonald, M.D., is a board-certified family medicine provider with Williamson Health Medical Group, serving patients on the campus of Williamson Medical Center at Williamson Tower Primary Care inside Suite 505 in Franklin, Tenn.

A native of Reno, Nev., Dr. McDonald attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif., and earned degree in psychology. She then went on to medical school at the University of Nevada in Reno before completing a residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Ariz.

Said Dr. McDonald: “I chose family practice because I really like the variety. I like seeing all ages, I like seeing men and women and following patients through their life. And, I like to get patients really involved in their healthcare choices and decisions. The patients should be a big part of making the decisions that matter for their own healthcare.”

Away from the clinic, Dr. McDonald and her husband, Andy, are avid fans of the outdoors, traveling and hiking. To date, she has trekked Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, and has run three marathons.
