With Williamson Medical Center’s Boyer-Bryan West Tower rising above the skyline, it’s clear that Williamson Health continues to elevate excellence in healthcare throughout Williamson County and beyond.
However, the recently completed West Tower is just one of many ways the regional healthcare system is growing to serve our rapidly expanding and thriving region. Over the last year, Williamson Health has celebrated numerous milestones that reflect its ongoing commitment to providing exceptional healthcare options close to home.
Milestone 1: Celebrating the Boyer-Bryan West Tower
Completed last summer, the newly expanded Boyer-Bryan West Tower added three floors to the original structure plus a new wing encompassing all six floors—totaling nearly 175,000 new square feet and 134 new patient beds. It now includes a 35-bed ICU, 94 medical-surgical inpatient rooms and 10 pediatric inpatient rooms.
All part of the historic expansion and renovation project Williamson Medical Center launched in 2022, the tower also features a fully renovated and expanded obstetrics and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with 33 total patient rooms and nine private NICU bays, a spacious well-baby nursery and three C-section rooms.
“Our goal is to provide top-tier care to all residents of Williamson County and the surrounding region,” said Phil Mazzuca, Williamson Health CEO. “This expansion plays a vital role in achieving that goal.”
The recent enhancements have already had a meaningful impact on the lives of patients from Williamson County and the surrounding areas. Since the grand opening of the Boyer-Bryan West Tower last June, Williamson Medical Center has seen a notable increase in overall patient volume as well as its ability to care for more complex patients right here, close to home. The facility also consistently receives high praise for its beautiful, spacious and thoughtfully designed new spaces.
Milestone 2: Elevating Cardiac Care
Earning recognition for its clinical excellence in a wide range of cardiology services, Williamson Health continues to expand access to advanced, high-quality heart care across the region. Williamson Health’s cardiology department features cardiac specialists with extensive experience in prevention, intervention, and heart failure. The healthcare system also offers an evidence-based chest pain program, cardiac stress testing, an accredited cardiac rehab program, a pulmonary rehab program, and more.
In addition, the world-class Cardiac Center includes two state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization labs, an electrophysiology lab, and cutting-edge technologies that provide real-time, high-resolution imaging of the heart and blood flow.
Last May, Williamson Medical Center earned designation as a Primary Heart Attack Center by The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association—a certification that recognizes the hospital’s rapid-response capabilities and dedication to improving heart health outcomes.
Milestone 3: Expanding Access to Exceptional Care
Williamson Health’s growing services extend throughout the region, with the system opening its newest clinic location in Spring Hill. The clinic offers primary care and other specialists, a general healthcare walk-in clinic, and laboratory services, as well as Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee orthopaedic urgent care, physicians clinic and physical therapy. Spring Hill residents benefit from access to advanced practice providers across a wide spectrum of healthcare needs, including orthopaedic injuries and conditions. The clinic is located at the corner of Port Royal and Duplex Roads.
“The recently completed West Tower is just one of many ways the regional healthcare system is growing to serve our rapidly expanding and thriving region.”
Milestone 4: Helping Patients Sleep a Little Easier
The Williamson Health Sleep Lab, serving patients since 1995, makes better sleep possible for patients across Williamson County and beyond. The nationally accredited sleep lab recently added a fifth bedroom, allowing the board-certified sleep physicians to see more patients each month. In addition to fresh cosmetic upgrades—like new furnishings, lighting, and bedding—the lab has installed state-of-the-art sleep study equipment and expanded capabilities for in-home testing.
Milestone 5: Delivering Hope
Reflecting Williamson Health’s commitment to meeting the expansive healthcare needs of the community and providing specialized medical care close to home, Williamson Health Medical Group has added maternal-fetal specialists Chelsea Clinton, M.D., and Michael DeRoche, M.D., to its growing team of healthcare providers. Board-certified in both obstetrics-gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine, Drs. Clinton and DeRoche provide comprehensive care for women experiencing high-risk pregnancies and their unborn babies.
High-risk pregnancies are those in which the mother, baby or both are at increased risk of health complications before, during or after birth due to maternal conditions like hypertension or autoimmune disorders or fetal issues such as growth restriction. Drs. Clinton and DeRoche join the mother’s care team, helping tailor care plans for their patients, whether the mother plans to deliver at Williamson Medical Center or not. In addition to helping women and families navigate high-risk pregnancies, Williamson Health Medical Group’s maternal-fetal specialists provide comprehensive care, including advanced gynecological imaging and maternal/fetal obstetrical imaging for routine and complicated high-risk pregnancies.
